Rachel

I am Rachel, and while I am new to the eastern shore I am not new in the animal kingdom. I have always had a passion for animals and I started in the animal rights field volunteering for animal rights organizations. I moved on to grooming and managing a pet supply store where I began assisting with dog training classes. Training at that time did not involve Positive Reinforcement methods and I wanted nothing more to do with jerking dogs around, "popping" their collars and leads, and forcing them to do what they were supposed to. I delved into the world of volunteering for various rescues and shelters where I spent twelve years working with all kids of animals from primates to reptiles. Out of desires for my own pooch I decided to look into training for her. Much to my delight I discovered that training evolved to using Positive Reinforcement, and I was hooked. I wanted to learn all there was to know so I started observing other trainers and went to the Animal Behavior College. Upon graduation, five years ago, I began pet sitting, dog training, and studying with other trainers.

I am a committed lifetime student of animal behavior, and I continue my volunteer work with Adopt A Boxer Rescue, and The Humane Society Of Caroline County.
